Our regular club nights are held from 8pm on the second Tuesday of the month at Porsche Centre Willoughby, 445 Willoughby Road, Willoughby 2068.
Guest Speaker for April : Russell Norden
Our speaker for April is club member Russell Norden. Russell has been a defensive, advanced and high performance driving instructor for almost forty years.
Russell won the 1979 Australian Formula Ford Championship and went on to race Australian Formula 2 and Formula Pacific before being forced to retire hurt in 1982.
These days Russell is back on the track competing in the Phillip Island historic meeting, the Muscle Car Masters at Eastern Creek and the PCNSW Regularity event at the Bathurst Motor Festival.
Russell’s track car is a 1970 Porsche 911 ST, with 305 horsepower and a weight just under 1000 kg, or as Russell describes “a rather fun power to weight ratio” .
Russell will talk about his recent trip to Europe and his interesting collection of cars including the only manual E46 BMW MC CS in Australia.
Come along to the Club Meeting to hear Russell talk and catch up with fellow PCNSW members.
More of a “get together” than a formal meeting, the format is relaxed and informative and includes a guest speaker and an update of club events.
Guest speaker presentations are wide ranging, from general topics of interest to new model releases to classic restorations to the latest technologies in performance enhancement.
These evenings are an opportunity for members to get together and they’re also an ideal entrée into the club for new members. If you’ve been thinking of joining the club, why not come along and see what it’s all about?
Coffee, tea and light refreshments are provided at the conclusion of the night although many members enjoy a casual dinner beforehand at one of the local restaurants within easy walking distance. On street parking is readily available on both sides of Willoughby Road.
